"If there's a book you really want to read but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it." - Toni MorrisonI first saw this quote on Kristie's blog. It's stuck inside of me. Perhaps that's because I am trying to write a book. Its roots go back to words spoken by a mentor in college, a garage sale find in Kirkland, and a thousand cups of coffee. It is a book about the lives of women, because I am hungry for stories from other women's lives. And as I tell my own story, I remember who I am and who I want to be. Writing things down has been good for me. I have a journal and gel pens in my purse, I have a "doing list" (because to do lists feel daunting), and I take notes in church. When I write things down, they stay with me and things seem to happen more easily. So I am writing on this blog about writing a book. I want to finish by July 2012. Now that I've written that, maybe I will.

mmmm...i loved that quote too!
I had never seen the video for that. I can tell you now that it is pretty much all very good advice. I especially identify with the "you'll miss your knees when they're gone" part. :)
Hugs!
thanks, LadyBee!
